What the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor Does

The High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor pumps Crude Oil from deep underground, freeing you from the fixed oil-field spots that the regular Crude Oil Extractor demands. In the game files both extractors share the exact same production data — 8,000 work per barrel at 120 work per second, or one Crude Oil roughly every 67 seconds — so what you're paying for is placement freedom, not a faster pump.

How to Use It

• It's an Ancient Technology: level 51 in the technology tree and a hefty 4 Ancient Technology Points, on top of expensive materials — 300 Pal Metal Ingots, 50 Circuit Boards, 50 Bio Batteries, and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts.
• It draws 3,000 power — half again as much as the regular extractor's 2,000 — so budget generator capacity and a strong Generating Electricity crew before placing it.
• No worker is needed for the pumping itself: supply power and it runs on its own. Assign Transporting pals so the oil actually reaches your chests.
• It can only be placed on open ground with no structures beneath it, so leave it a clear footprint.
• With 100,000 HP it's built like a tank — raids are unlikely to dent it.

Tips

Before committing the Ancient Technology Points, weigh whether you need it: if you're willing to park a base on an oil field, the regular extractor produces identically for 2 ordinary tech points and less power. Where the high-pressure model shines is consolidation — adding oil production to an existing well-developed base instead of dedicating a whole base slot to it. Either way, invest in the Mining research line at the Pal Labor Research Lab: its three Oil Extraction Speed projects add +20%, +30%, and +40% — a combined +90% that nearly doubles output per extractor and dwarfs the difference between extractor models.
