Palworld Raid Bosses Guide: Every Summoning Altar Boss, Slab, and Drop

All eleven Summoning Altar raid bosses in Palworld — Bellanoir to Moon Lord — with every slab recipe, guaranteed drop rate, the victory egg's hidden 10% Alpha chance, the mid-fight element transformations, Xenolord's meteor adds, and the Ultra fights' exclusive rewards, straight from the game files.

Raid bosses are the fights you pick on purpose: build a Summoning Altar , place a slab, and one of Palworld's superbosses materializes at your base and immediately starts trying to level it. The game's raid boss table defines eleven summons — six bosses, most in a normal and an "Ultra" level 80 version — and it spells out everything this guide covers: every slab, every guaranteed drop with its exact rate, the victory egg's hidden 10% Alpha chance, the mid-fight transformations, and the loot you cannot get anywhere else.

How the Summoning Altar works

Each boss is summoned by consuming its slab at the Altar. Per the recipe table, every slab is assembled from 4 of its slab fragments — with one flavorful exception: Moon Lord's Celestial Sigil is forged from 100 Hallowed Bars instead, exactly as a Terraria player would expect. Ultra slabs can be crafted the same way from Ultra fragments, but you rarely need to: every boss that has an Ultra version drops that Ultra slab as a guaranteed reward from its normal fight. The intended ladder is baked into the reward tables — beat the level 45–70 version, receive the Ultra slab, come back stronger for the level 80 rematch. Only the original level 35 Bellanoir sits outside the ladder: it has no Ultra form and drops no slab, just its exclusive Apocalypse Skill Fruit.

Two practical warnings before your first summon. The boss spawns at your base and carries dedicated base-attack moves in its data, so it will happily delete your farm while you dodge — the community-standard answer is a disposable "arena base", a spare base slot holding nothing but the Altar. And the fight locks your buildings while it runs: the game refuses dismantling with "Cannot dismantle while battling Raid Boss", so set the arena up before you place the slab.

All eleven summons and their drops

Everything below is straight from the boss table's reward lists: items at 100% are guaranteed on every kill, and each fight additionally hands out the pick-one Applied Handbook noted under its drops.

Mechanics from the data tables

  • The victory egg has a 10% Alpha chance. Every catchable raid boss rewards an egg on victory, and the reward table weights it 90% normal form, 10% Alpha (oversized) form. That egg is the only way to get your first Bellanoir, Bellanoir Libero, Blazamut Ryu, Xenolord, or Hartalis — the bosses themselves cannot be caught. Once you have a pair, they are self-breeding exclusives: two of the same species can produce more at a Breeding Farm . Hatching, IVs, and inheritance work like any other egg; see the breeding guide for the details.
  • Moon Lord is the exception. The Tides of Terraria crossover boss has no egg in its reward list and no Paldex entry — it exists purely for the fight and its Terraria-themed loot: Terra Blade, Vortex Beater, Nightglow, and Terraprisma schematics at 25% each, a 22% Legendary Meowmere, and the Moon Lord Mask.
  • Two bosses transform mid-fight. Bellanoir Libero switches to the Ice element mid-fight, inflicts Freeze on everyone when it transforms, and gains a set of Ice attacks. Blazamut Ryu does the same with Electric. Bring resistance for the second element, not just the first.
  • Xenolord raids you while you raid it: it calls down meteors carrying 3 Xenovader per strike below 70% HP, then adds a Xenogard escort below 40% HP, so a clean fight needs someone on add duty — its Ultra version starts the meteors even earlier.
  • The Ultra fights are gear checks. All five Ultras sit at level 80 and pay a flat 10 Ancient Civilization Cores , 10 Training Crystals , an exclusive cosmetic head piece, and two Applied Handbooks — the best per-fight handbook rate in the game. The game itself warns you: "The Ultra Raid Boss is extremely powerful. Only a force of fully trained Pals stands a chance." A maxed-out, well-passived team is assumed; our passive skills guide and awakening guide are the preparation reading.

Looking for the raids that come to you uninvited — the wild herds, faction squads, and the PIDF? Those are a different system entirely, covered in the base raids guide.
