What Demon's Hand Does

Demon's Hand is the strongest work passive in the game, with three effects rolled into one rank 5 slot:

  • Work Speed +90% — the biggest work speed boost of any passive, ahead of Remarkable Craftsmanship (+75%) and Artisan (+50%).
  • SAN drops 15% faster — the one drawback, and it's manageable (see the tips below).
  • World Tree harvestables won't vanish when approached — the ghostly trees and ore nodes inside the World Tree normally crumble as you get close. This effect protects both the Pal and its trainer, so with a Demon's Hand Pal in your party you can walk up and harvest them.

How to Get It

No Pal has Demon's Hand by default, and it isn't in the normal wild-passive pool — it's one of the seven World Tree exclusive passives. There are two ways to get it:

  • Wild World Tree Pals. Pals that spawn inside the World Tree can randomly roll World Tree exclusive passives, Demon's Hand among them. It's a lucky find rather than a farmable source, but check the passives of anything you catch there. Yakumo's Birds of a Feather partner skill can't speed this up — it only boosts passives from the regular wild pool, which excludes all World Tree passives.
  • The disposable implant. Disposable Implant: Demon’s Hand teaches Demon's Hand at the Pal Surgery Table — the surgery itself is free, but the implant is consumed.

The implant comes from the Ancient Relic Recycler : every recycle of an Ancient Relic — any grade, including cheap Decayed ones — rolls exactly one disposable implant from a 16-implant pool, so Demon's Hand lands at 6.25% per recycle. And since the implant is one-and-done, finish breeding, rank-ups, and IVs before you spend it. See the Ancient Relics guide for the full reward tables, the implants guide for how surgery works, and the best passive skills guide for how it fits a four-slot build.

Tips

  • Stack it. Work speed passives add together: Demon's Hand + Remarkable Craftsmanship + Artisan + Work Slave totals +245% work speed on a dedicated crafter.
  • Offset the sanity drain. Positive Thinker cancels most of it, and a hot spring plus high-grade food covers the rest. Skip pairing it with sanity-hungry passives like Insomnia unless your base's SAN recovery is excellent.
  • Just want the harvest effect? Hermit Sage grants the same World Tree decay immunity from the same implant pool — the trade-off is -20% work speed instead of +90%. If a worker is getting the slot, Demon's Hand is the one worth holding out for; save Hermit Sage draws for low-effort background Pals.
No pals have this passive skill by default.
