What the Ancient Furnace Does

The Ancient Furnace is the final tier of the furnace line and the only furnace in the game that can smelt the top-tier Soralite and Paloxite Ingots. It handles every lower ingot too — all the way down to basic Ingots and Charcoal — so one machine can replace your entire smelting lineup. Its trick is a two-stage process: materials are melted with fire, then rapidly quenched with ice.

How to Use It

• Unlocked at level 66 in the technology tree for 5 technology points.
• The two-stage process needs two specialists: Kindling Lv. 6 for the melt and Cooling Lv. 6 for the quench. Only a handful of top-end pals reach Lv. 6 — check the suitability pages for who qualifies.
• It draws 3,000 power while running, one of the heaviest loads of any base machine.
• Building it takes late-game materials: Coralum Ingots, Thermal Cores, Computers, and Ancient Civilization Cores.

Tips

Both of its work types have a one-per-base booster: the Flame Cauldron speeds the kindling stage and the Snowman speeds the cooling stage, so a dedicated smelting base wants both. Its power appetite pairs naturally with the Ancient Power Generator — older generators will struggle to keep it and the rest of your base fed at the same time.
