What the Pengullet Effigy Does

A statuette of Pengullet, added at the game's v1.0 launch. Offered at the Statue of Power, it enhances your Swimming Ability — and that's two effects in one: swim speed goes up and stamina drains slower while swimming. The track runs 20 ranks at 1 effigy each, +5% per rank up to +100% at rank 20 — a fully enhanced character swims twice as fast.

Where to Find Them

30 Pengullet Effigies are placed in the world, fittingly along coastlines and cold water — Dry Sandy Beach, the Frostbound Mountains, and the waters around Mount Obsidian. With 30 available and 20 needed, you have ten spares. Every placement is on the interactive world map — toggle the Pengullet Effigy layer.

Tips

• This is the drowning insurance stat. Running out of stamina mid-swim is one of the game's few genuinely lethal traversal failures; halved drain plus doubled speed makes open water safe long before you have a good swimming mount.
• It's one of three traversal effigies — the Herbil Effigy does the same for gliding and the Tanzee Effigy for climbing.
