What the Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator Does
This is the fastest incubator you can build before the Ancient Hatchery: three egg slots at 2.0 work per second, double the rate of every other incubator in the game, with temperature handled automatically. The price is a steady 800 power.
How to Build It
- A boss technology at level 58 costing 5 Ancient Technology Points, gated behind the Bastigor tower boss.
- Costs 100 Hexolite, 50 Circuit Boards, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts and 20 Ancient Civilization Cores — comfortably the most expensive incubator short of the Ancient Hatchery.
- 800 power, four times the Electric Egg Incubator. Budget a Large Power Generator and the pals to staff it before you place one.
Twice the Rate, but Only Twice
At 2.0 work per second it genuinely is the fastest conventional incubator — every other model in the ladder sits at 1.0 or 1.5. But it's worth being clear about the size of that win: against the Large Incubator, which also holds three eggs, you are paying 800 power and a much heavier material bill to hatch eggs twice as fast. Two Large Incubators would give you the same throughput for no power at all, just spread across six slots instead of three.
So the honest case for this structure is latency, not volume: it's what you build when you want a specific egg out quickly — a mutated egg, a passive-hunting result — rather than when you want more eggs per hour. If floor space and power are both plentiful, it's a straight upgrade; if either is tight, more Large Incubators is the better engineering.
The Ancient Hatchery Puts It in Perspective
The Ancient Hatchery at level 76 incubates at 1,200 work per second — 600× this machine — and breeds the eggs itself besides. If you're within reach of level 76 and have 8 Ancient Technology Points spare, the Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator is a short-lived stepping stone rather than an endgame build.
Tips
- Check your grid first. 800 power is a large slice of a base's budget, and an underpowered incubator stops rather than slows.
- Feed it from a dedicated breeding base. At 2.0/s it will outpace a couple of Breeding Farms, and an empty slot is wasted power.
- Keep the unpowered incubators running alongside it. They cost nothing and add slots; there's no reason to demolish a working Large Incubator.
