Palworld Ancient Relics Guide: Relic Farming and the Ancient Relic Recycler

All five Ancient Relic grades, every way to farm them in the World Tree, and the Ancient Relic Recycler's full reward tables — including exact disposable implant and schematic odds from the game files.

Ancient Relics are the World Tree's endgame currency: fragments of an ancient civilization that you feed into the Ancient Relic Recycler in exchange for materials, schematics, and — most importantly — the disposable implants that carry the strongest passive skills in the game. This guide covers all five relic grades, every place relics drop, and the recycler's full reward tables with real odds pulled from the game files.

The five relic grades

Relics come in five grades, from the common Decayed relic up to the legendary Glistening relic. A surprising fact straight from the loot tables: every grade rolls the same implant, bonus, and schematic pools. Higher grades pay out more raw materials and take longer to recycle — and only Glistening relics can produce the five exclusive implants.

Relic Rarity Work to recycle Special
Decayed Ancient Relic Common 6,000
Dormant Ancient Relic Uncommon 12,000
Gorgeous Ancient Relic Rare 24,000
Glowing Ancient Relic Epic 48,000
Glistening Ancient Relic Legendary 96,000 Rolls the exclusive implant pool

Where to farm Ancient Relics

Everything relic-related happens in and around the World Tree:

  • Treasure chests throughout the World Tree, including the elemental (fire, water, and electric) locked chests.
  • Fishing at World Tree fishing spots — relics of every grade sit in the fishing loot pool.
  • Pal drops — Pals encountered in the World Tree carry relics as drop loot, including Elgrove , Moldron , Dualith , Sekhmet — check any Pal's page to see its relic drops.
  • Junk piles scattered around the World Tree.
  • Expeditions — both World Tree expeditions bring relics back passively:

Note the hard-mode expedition skips the two lowest grades entirely — it's the most reliable passive source of Gorgeous, Glowing, and Glistening relics.

The Ancient Relic Recycler

The Ancient Relic Recycler unlocks at technology level 74 for 3 technology points. It runs on electricity (800 power while working) and is operated by Pals with handiwork suitability. Load relics in, and your Pals break each one down as a work job — 6,000 work for a Decayed relic, doubling every grade up to 96,000 for a Glistening relic, so bring your best handiwork crew.

What every recycle produces

Each recycled relic pays out one result from every reward group in its loot table — a full bundle every time, not a single random item:

  • Mythical Wood and Paloxite — quantities scale with relic grade (see below).
  • Five Radiant Gems of random elements (9 elements in the pool) — the Pal awakening materials.
  • Ancient Civilization Cores — one from a Decayed relic, 5–10 from every higher grade.
  • One random disposable implant from the common pool — odds below.
  • Three bonus items from a wide pool: stat fruits, EXP and affection candies, rank-up items, technology manuals, Pal Reverser , work suitability tickets (about 1% each), and even skill fruits at long odds.
  • One ancient-tech schematicodds below.
  • Glistening relics only: one additional implant from the exclusive pool.
Relic Mythical Wood Paloxite Ancient Civ. Cores
Decayed Ancient Relic 1–3 1–3 1
Dormant Ancient Relic 3–5 3–5 5–10
Gorgeous Ancient Relic 5–7 5–7 5–10
Glowing Ancient Relic 7–9 7–9 5–10
Glistening Ancient Relic 9–11 9–11 5–10

Implant odds

Every recycle — any grade — rolls one implant from the common pool of 16, each equally likely at 6.25%. See the implants guide for what each passive does and how to apply it at the Pal Surgery Table .

Exclusive pool — Glistening relics only

A Glistening relic additionally rolls one of these five, each at 20%. These are the same passives that mutated Pals can hatch with naturally — these implants are the only way to put them on a non-mutated Pal:

Schematic odds

Every recycle also rolls one schematic for the ancient-tech gear set. All seven pieces are equally likely; the tier is what the odds decide:

Which relics to recycle first

  • Recycle Decayed relics freely. They roll the exact same implant, bonus, and schematic pools as every other grade at a sixteenth of the work of a Glistening relic — they're your cheapest implant and schematic rolls per hour of Pal labor.
  • Glistening relics are precious. They're the only source of the five exclusive implants, so never leave one unrecycled — and if you're hunting a specific exclusive, expect five Glistening relics per copy on average. Check the best passive skills guide before deciding which exclusives are worth chasing.
  • Farm hard-mode expeditions for high grades. The World Tree's hard expedition only returns Gorgeous relics and better, in larger batches than the standard run.
  • Save your implants for finished Pals. Disposable implants vanish on use, so apply them after breeding is done — plan the final parent chain with the Breeding Calculator and see the implants guide for the full surgery workflow.
