Palworld Implants Guide: Every Implant and Where to Get It
Every implant in Palworld: how the Pal Surgery Table works, the difference between permanent and disposable implants, which passive skills are unlocked by default, and where to find the rest.
Implants let you rewrite a Pal's passive skills — no more re-rolling breeding pairs for hours hoping the right
passives line up. Every implant in the game feeds into one structure, the
Pal Surgery Table
, where you can swap any passive
skill on any Pal for the right price. This guide covers how the system works, the difference between permanent
and disposable implants, which passive skills you can apply from the start, and exactly where to find every
implant that has to be unlocked.
How the Pal Surgery Table works
The
Pal Surgery Table
unlocks at technology level 38 for 3 technology points
and is the only place implants can be used. Place a Pal on the table, pick one of its current passive skills to
overwrite, and choose the new passive you want in its place.
Which passives appear in that list depends on what you've collected:
- A set of default passives is always available and only costs gold.
- Each permanent Implant you own adds its passive to the list forever. Implants are key items — buy one once and the passive is unlocked for every surgery afterwards.
- Each Disposable Implant in your inventory adds its passive too, but the implant is consumed when you apply it.
Permanent vs. disposable implants
The two families of implants work very differently, and the strongest passives in the game are locked behind the disposable kind:
| Permanent implants | Disposable implants | |
|---|---|---|
| Item name | "Implant: …" | "Disposable Implant: …" |
| Item type | Key item — can't be dropped or sold | Consumable — stacks in your inventory |
| Uses | Unlimited once obtained | One surgery per implant |
| Gold cost per surgery | 50,000 | Free — the implant itself is the cost |
| Passive strength | Mostly mid-tier workhorses (Artisan, Musclehead, Runner…) | Top-tier and exclusive passives (Demon God, Vampiric, the World Tree set…) |
| Source | Arena and bounty merchants | Recycling Ancient Relics |
Passive skills available by default
These passives can be applied at any Pal Surgery Table without owning a single implant — you just pay gold.
They're mostly entry-level passives, but a few solid mid-tier options like
Ferocious
and the two foreman passives hide in the 50,000-gold bracket.

Permanent implants and where to buy them
Fourteen passives have to be unlocked by buying their implant first. Each implant is a one-time purchase sold by exactly one of two merchants, and every one of these passives costs 50,000 gold per surgery once unlocked. Not sure which are worth the currency? Our best passive skills guide ranks every one of them by build.
Arena Shop
The Arena Shop trades in
Battle Tickets
, earned by winning
solo matches in the arena. Each implant here costs 50 Battle Tickets.
Bounty merchant
The guard at the bounty exchange trades in
Successful Bounty Tokens
, earned by defeating bounty targets
and turning proof in to a Vigilante Bounty Officer in villages and towns. Each implant here costs
15 Successful Bounty Tokens.
Disposable implants and Ancient Relics
Every disposable implant comes from one place: the
Ancient Relic Recycler
(technology level 74, 3 technology points).
Feed it Ancient Relics — fragments of ancient civilization found in the endgame — and it produces random
rewards, with disposable implants in the loot pool at every relic grade.
The recycler accepts all five relic grades, from common to legendary:
-
Decayed Ancient Relic
(Common)
-
Dormant Ancient Relic
(Uncommon)
-
Gorgeous Ancient Relic
(Rare)
-
Glowing Ancient Relic
(Epic)
-
Glistening Ancient Relic
(Legendary)
Five implants — the four
mutation passives
plus Skymarcher — only drop when recycling
Glistening Ancient Relics
, the legendary grade.
Because disposable implants vanish on use, save them for a Pal you're finished breeding — ideally the final
product out of the
Breeding Calculator. For where to farm each relic grade and the recycler's full reward tables with exact odds, see our
Ancient Relics guide.
Implants that exist but can't be used
The game files contain more implant items than the surgery table actually asks for. Implants like
Implant: Brave
cover passives that are already available by
default, and a few legendary "Implant:" key items duplicate passives that are only granted by their disposable
versions. None of these currently appear in any shop or loot table, so treat them as unused leftovers — if a
future patch makes them obtainable, we'll update this guide.
